Montessori Accreditation

Our accreditation as a Montessori school is part of a strict commitment to exemplary education. Coconut Grove Montessori believes that children are individuals with different needs, interests, and abilities; therefore, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where children are respected and permitted to advance at their own natural rate of development. Each learning area is designed to help the child grow at their own pace and lessons are matched to each child's individual progress, allowing the child to gain self-confidence as well as academic achievement.

Coconut Grove Montessori School is accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA),  Florida Kindergarten Council and affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS).  These organizations seek to establish and maintain exemplary educational and ethical standards through its services and accreditation processes. AMS is the educational membership organization of Montessori Schools in the United States and the largest Montessori organization in the world. AMS advocates the highest standards in education, provides leadership, and empowers schools with supporting services. As a full member affiliate of this organization, our school promotes the advancement of the principles and practices that encourage better outcomes for children by ensuring that our staff and program meet the professional requirements necessary to be a part of the AMS.

So why does accreditation matter? Accreditation is a process of validation in which schools are evaluated. The standards for accreditation are set by a peer review board whose members include faculty from various accredited schools and organizations. Accreditation is the tool to monitor, assess, and evaluate the standards and quality of the education a student receives. As an accredited school, you as a parent can trust that the education you are paying for is valuable and worthwhile.
