Our school offers a comprehensive selection of Special Area instruction opportunities which are classes offered during the regular school day that enrich and enhance the Montessori Curriculum. They include Yoga, Music, Robotics, World Languages, and Physical Education.
- Yoga is offered to students starting at age of 3 to 5th grade. Yoga presents physically challenging children’s poses to explore the quieting of the mind and focus of body control that yoga offers.
- Robotics is offered to our Kindergarten and Elementary Students and is designed to enrich the learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics “STEM.” This multimedia curriculum teaches students how to program basic robot behaviors using motors and rotation, sound, light, touch, and ultrasonic sensors through the LEGO WEDO Robots. Instructors teach programming language, robot building, basic robot behavior, the use of sensors, and robot competition.
- Spanish, French, and Mandarin are offered as part of our World Languages Curriculum to students starting in the Children's House and continuing to 5th grade.
- Physical Education is offered to our Elementary students and develops and encourages students to participate in a variety of developmentally appropriate sporting activities, reinforces cooperative team behavior, and teaches students to establish lifelong fitness goals.
